
Elon Musk Criticizes Trump’s AI Project, Says Investors Have No Money

Tesla boss Elon Musk believes that technology giants OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank do not have enough funds to fulfill their promise to invest US$ 500 billion or Rp 8,100 trillion (exchange rate of Rp 16,200) in artificial intelligence or AI infrastructure in the United States (US). Elon Musk said this hours after US President Donald Trump announced the massive project at the White House. Trump expressed his ambition to make the US a leading country in technology.
Previously, Trump mentioned Chat GPT OpenAI, SoftBank and Oracle planned to establish a joint venture called Stargate. This plan is said to be able to create more than 100,000 jobs in the US.
“SoftBank has less than $10 billion in collateral,” Elon Musk added in a subsequent post.
For your information, Elon Musk is currently leading a department that aims to make efficiency in the Trump administration. On Wednesday morning, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman responded to Elon Musk’s statement. According to him, Elon Musk’s claim about Softbank is wrong.
“I realize what’s good for the country may not be optimal for your company, but in your new role, I hope you’ll put (American flag emoji) first,” he said.
SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison attended the Stargate launch at the White House. Ellison said the first data center project has been built in Texas. Another 20 will be built for electronic health record analysis activities to help doctors treat patients.
